Infrared Heating Films in Combination with Solar Systems
Infrared floor heating film can be effectively combined with solar panels and energy storage systems. With this integration, households can further increase their self-sufficiency with clean energy while reducing dependence on fossil fuels and external electricity suppliers. Infrared floor heating serves as an efficient solar energy consumption system, improving the overall energy efficiency of the home and reducing heating costs.
Unlike traditional heating systems, carbon fiber floor heating film does not require complex installation and is suitable for both new buildings and renovated spaces. It is environmentally friendly because it uses only electricity, which is converted 100% into heat, and in combination with solar panels, it stands out as a long-term energy-efficient heating solution.
Infrared heating film installation is quick and simple—no complicated construction or large investments are required, unlike heat pumps. This makes the technology one of the most cost-effective and promising heating solutions in Latvia and across Europe.
Where Can Infrared Floor Heating Films Be Used?
✅ In private houses and apartments – as main or supplementary heating.
✅ In commercial spaces – offices, cafés, restaurants, hotels.
✅ In public buildings – gyms, kindergartens, schools.
✅ In country homes and holiday cottages – efficient for seasonal or permanent heating.
Depending on your needs, you can choose different power levels:
150 W/m² or 220 W/m² – for primary heating.
80 W/m² – for highly energy-efficient homes or as a supplementary heating solution.

Safety and Quality
By choosing infrared floor heating films, you gain not only an energy-efficient heating system but also maximum safety. The films are produced with special waterproofing and flame-retardant lamination, ensuring a high level of protection in everyday use. All products are certified according to European Union CE and RoHS standards, confirming compliance with strict quality and safety requirements.
Additional safety features include:
✅ Waterproof protection – ensures safe operation in various rooms.
✅ Flame-retardant lamination – reduces fire risk and adds extra safety.
✅ CE and RoHS certification – compliance with EU quality and safety standards.
✅ Long-term safe solution – suitable for both residential and commercial buildings.
✅ Eco-friendly technology – high energy efficiency and sustainable heating.
Installation Guidelines for Infrared Floor Heating
Power capacity evaluationBefore installing infrared heating films, it is important to determine how much power your electrical system can provide and how much can be allocated for floor heating. For example, if the input circuit breaker allows 16A, then according to the formula P = I × U, the maximum permissible load is 16 × 220 = 3520 W. This is the maximum load per thermostat. Using 150 W/m² carbon fiber infrared heating film, you can heat up to 23.3 m² with this capacity. Note that the floor will not continuously consume maximum power—it will only reach this level at certain times. If the main breaker supports higher capacities (25A, 40A, etc.), heating for larger rooms can be provided by dividing them into separate zones.
Room preparation and planning
The next important step is precise room measurement and preparation of a floor layout plan. For primary heating, it is recommended to cover at least 80% of the total floor area with infrared heating film. Placement of furniture must be considered. The heating film should not be installed under heavy furniture or objects larger than 10–15 cm in diameter (wardrobes, chests of drawers, desks, etc.). If furniture is elevated at least 10 cm above the floor (for example, on legs), it can be placed above the heated zone. The layout plan should be detailed, marking distances from walls, niches, and utilities, and kept for future reference.
Formula for total power calculation:

P = Pf × S
P – total power, W
Pf – film power, W/m²
S – area covered by infrared heating film, m²
Thermostats and Smart Control
For maximum efficiency, infrared floor heating films should be combined with smart Wi-Fi thermostats such as the E600i or Xiaomi Piano. These intelligent thermostats provide comfortable and precise temperature control, helping reduce electricity consumption while improving comfort at home or in the office.

✅ Smartphone control – manage heating via a mobile app or even voice commands (Alexa, Google Home).
✅ Schedule planning – up to 6 intervals per day, allowing you to save energy and adapt heating to your daily routine.
✅ Safety – child-lock function prevents accidental setting changes.
✅ Automatic memory – all settings are saved even after a power outage.
Why Choose Infrared Heating Film?
✅ Quick installation – no extra equipment or maintenance required, simply lay the film and connect to electricity.
✅ Efficiency – distributes heat evenly, creating a pleasant indoor climate.
✅ Safety – low surface temperature protects floor coverings and ensures comfort.
✅ Reliability – manufactured from high-quality materials, Long service life with a 25-year performance guarantee.
✅ Energy savings – when combined with a thermostat, energy costs can be significantly reduced.
⚠️ Important: Infrared heating films are safe in use, as they do not heat above 28 °C. This protects floor coverings from deformation and ensures even heat distribution.
Conclusion
Infrared floor heating is becoming increasingly popular in Latvia thanks to its energy efficiency, reliability, and maintenance-free operation. It is an excellent alternative to traditional central heating, particularly in apartments, private homes, and offices. When installed correctly, infrared heating films help reduce electricity consumption and provide a comfortable indoor climate all year round.
